The Gioia's put on entertaining, very enthusiastic, energetic, audience interactive Las Vegas quality shows in addition to performing as a dance band for a variety of venues. If you like your entertainment straight up...no acrobats, no gimmicks...just pure talent performing unforgettable music, vocal impersonations and slight comedy then The Flashbacks is the one show you must see! This group originated in Cleveland, Ohio in October of 1998. Sonny and Sable moved to S.W. Florida in January 1999 to fulfill their dream of working and living in paradise. After settling in, the couple hit the Port Charlotte, Englewood, and Venice, Florida music scene and have been performing to packed houses and sold-out crowds since the fall of 2000, winning the hearts and support of many local fans, and tourists visiting Florida, from all over the United States, and the world. For twenty five years, The Flashbacks have been 'Rockin' the House', at establishments, which include numerous Golf and Country Clubs, Yacht Clubs, and some of the finest Restaurants and Corporate venues in the area, many of which they have been playing for 18 + years. Additionally, they have performed for several Elks, VFW, Eagles, Moose, and American Legion Posts over the years. In 2008, Sonny and Sable expanded their show to include performing in Ohio and Las Vegas and in early 2015 performed on Celebrity Cruise Line entertaining 94 of their family/friends for three private (exclusive) shows. The Flashbacks perform six different powerhouse 'Tribute' Shows (Go to 'About Us' and scroll down to 'Our Shows' for more information), in addition to their regular music as a premier dance band encompassing genre from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, and Motown, some 80’s and a little bit of old country’ thrown in. The Flashbacks wanted to add another musician and/or vocalist to the group for an occasional 'guest' appearance to their Tribute Shows, but could never quite find the 'right fit'. For their "Jingle Bell Hop - Christmas Show" in 2015, they hired longtime friend and seasoned vocalist, Nancy Simone. According to Sable "We 'clicked' during our first rehearsal. The show was like magic, a 'pet project' of mine...Sonny and Nancy's voices are equally beautiful and blended perfectly during duets. " The Flashbacks also generously donate their time, talents, and money for select fundraisers and charitable organizations. Some of their favorite organizations are Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, St. Jude's, and the Semper-Fi Fund. The Flashbacks credit their good fortune and success to their immense ability to perform a vast variety of songs, and all well. This duo truly loves performing together, and this camaraderie shows on stage. According to the couple, one of the many things they're proud of is the harmony they have together both on and well as off stage. "Our voices blend beautifully. It sometimes takes groups several years to accomplish such harmony. We make a great team", states Sonny. " It's nice to have such a good rapport with the people you work with. We work hard but have so much fun in the process." This caries onto the job.. The Flashbacks, Sonny & Sable love to have fun and enjoy interacting with people and feed off the audience's enthusiasm. The Flashbacks know over 2000 songs, cater to requests (during dance performances) playing people's favorite songs to listen to, dine to, and dance to. When it come to music, their goal is to have the best sound they can possibly put out to the audience. This task is accomplished by using the best of today's technologies, sparing no expense on equipment to make each and every song sound as close to the 'original' as much as possible. To date, The Flashbacks have compiled approximately 1200 songs in their repertoire via midi files orchestrated and musically arranged through the keyboard by Sable, giving a full band sound. According to Sonny, "A full musical sound is important to me. I like having the same perfect sound as you originally heard on the radio and enjoy seeing people's faces when I sing a song they can relate to and enjoy themselves and 'Flashback' to yesterday." 941-698-2418 www.theflashbacksmusic.com |
